Australia V New Zealand 3rd ODI 2007 | Classic Cricket Highlights

The Second Match Of The Chappal-Hadlee Series Was Washed Out Due To Rain. The Tour Was Not Going Well For The Kiwis. In The Second Match As Well, Kiwis Lost Wickets Upfront But Rain Was Their Saviour. Out Of The Three Matches That The Kiwis Had Played On This Tour, They Had Lost 2 Of Them And Had One Washed Out Due To Rain. The Third ODI Was The Last Of The Series And The Tour. Kiwis Would Surely Want To Get Some Pride Home. It Was A Very Tough Task To Claim A Victory In The Last Match As The Kiwis Were Outmatched Everytime They Played Aussies On This Tour.

Australia Batted First In The Last ODI. Clarke And Hayden Came As Openers. Kiwis Got The Early Success They Wanted By Getting The Wicket Of Clarke, He Edged One Straight In The Air And Gave The Wicketkeeper An Easy Catch. With His Wicket, Ponting Cane To The Crease. Hayden And Ponting Started To Get The Partnership Going. They Played Their Shots Freely And Got Australia Safely To Fifty Mark Without Any Further Loss Of Wickets. Hayden Fell After That For 29 Of 32 Balls. His Innings Consisted Of 4 Boundaries. Oram Soon Grabbed The Key Wicket Of Hussey – He Scored 9 Runs With 1 Boundary. Symonds And Ponting Got A Good Partnership Going. They Lifted The Run Rate. Symonds Soon Got His Fifty. He Was Soon Given LBW- He Scored 52 Of 63 Balls With 4 Boundaries. Haddin And Hopes Played Cameo Innings Scoring 26 And 20 Respectively But The Main Highlight Of The Innings Was Ricky Ponting Who Scored 134 Runs And Remained Not Out-He Smashed 10 Fours And 2 Sixes.

Australia Scored 281 Runs Which Was A Good Score To Defend. McCullum And H[ow Came To Open For New Zealand. Chasing A Wide Ball Resulted In McCullum’s Demise. Bret Lee Got The Wicket Of How As Well And New Zealand Were Reduced To 8 For 2. Loosing Wickets At Crucial Times Was The Story Of Their Whole Tour. A Partnership Started To Flow Between Sinclair And Styris. But As I Mentioned That Sinclair Was Hit Plumb In The Pad By Hopes. Taylor Came And Went After Scoring 13 Runs. The Problem With New Zealand Was That They Were Not Getting Partnership Going On This Tour. Oram, Hopkins And Vettori Followed Taylor To The Dressing Room.

Styris Continued To Smash Boundaries, He Was The Only Batsman Left Who Could Earn New Zealand Some Pride. A Stunning Yorker From Tait Sent Mills Packing. New Zealand Were Reduced To 118 For 8. Gillespie Joined Styris On His Quest To Hit Boundaries. They Started To Find The Bundaries But Soon Styris Was Clean Bowled By Lee. Gillespie Didn’t Last Long As Well And Gave A Simple Catch To Symonds. Australia Won The Match 114 Runs And Ricky Ponting Was Awarded The Man Of The Match. New Zealand Were Completely Outplayed On This Tour By The Aussies, They Simply Had No Answer To The Superb Aussie Side!
